About Elementium

Previously, as one of Blackrock's longest serving raid guilds, we have a raid history that dates back all the way to Molten Core. Since those days of infancy, we have grown as a guild from expansion to expansion, instance to instance, member to member. Our pinnacle in raiding was attained in Sunwell, when we became the only alliance guild on the server to down Kil'Jaeden pre-nerf, firmly claiming and securing #1 Alliance on this heavily PvE and PvP competed BattleGroup 9 server. Aside from PvE achievements, the guild is coloured with PvP accomplishments, having garnered the most number of gladiators on the server for Season 3 and Season 4.

Neither have we slacked off in Wrath of the Lich King, as we ripped through all the 3.0 content before 2009, completed the Black-Proto Drake achievement, completed the Ironbound Proto Drake achievement, and have Algalon on farm. In ICC, we completed the Lich King (Alliance First), and we also achieved a world 16th, US 5th and server 1st Glory of the Icecrown Raider (10-man). We then went on to achieve a 25% Heroic Lich King kill, Blackrock second and Alliance first.

Having accomplished all these in Wrath of the Lich King, we then decided to move on into uncharted territory, to Barthilas, an Oceanic server, which we felt would suit us better. Ever since arriving on Barthilas, Elementium has quickly immersed itself into the very warm and welcoming nature of the server. Whilst constantly engaging in server-wide activities to boost our relationships with our fellow Barthilas players, we have also built many new bonds and alliances with everyone who is anyone on the server. Although the days on Barthilas are still early, Elementium will strive to bring Barthilas further up the Oceanic scene by offering top quality raiding and professionalism.

What we expect

Elementium is a hardcore progression guild, with all the late nights and dedicated farming that that implies when there is progress to be done. We expect that you come to raids with full consumables, ready to raid, with an understanding of how the boss mechanics work, either by reading our PvE forums or by watching videos released. If you do not understand how the guild performs any aspect of any fight, we expect that you ask, rather than keep quiet and hope nothing goes wrong. We expect good, consistent performance, or you will find yourself failing your trial, or being the benchwarmer all the time. We have a very small, core raiding roster of about 30 - 35 people and we like it that way. These 30 - 35 of us are some of the best raiders you will find on Barthilas, so make sure you are capable of performing to our standards.

During your trial, you will likely only see action during farm content if there is progress to be done. The veteran raiders will get a spot over you for progress content, unless 1) you are a class we absolutely need, or 2) you show us in farm content that you are capable of being one of the better players in our raid. Trials can last for any amount of time, usually ranging from 3 weeks onwards, depending on your performance / content that we are able to field you for at the time. This may be a culture shock to the players we are recruiting, if you are of the standard that we expect in our raiders, it is likely that you came from a guild where your raid spot was guaranteed because of your personal performance. Your attitude towards having to benchwarm / rotate in our guild counts greatly in our evaluation of you as a trial too.

What you can expect

Being one of the premier progression guilds, you can expect to stand around in your very shiny purples all the time if you make the grade. We constantly raid at the highest tiers of progression, and being part of Elementium has been, and always will be a mark on your raiding career that you will be proud to flaunt. Elementium also has a huge social component to the guild, we have a lot of ex-raiders and friends of raiders in the guild. As such, you can always find something to do in the guild, be it instance runs or farming old instances for phoenixes. There is a pretty relaxed atmosphere in the guild all the time, and being online all the time and being part of the guild culture is something that is encouraged in all applicants. We would prefer you not be one of those people who just log on for raids and log straight off afterwards.

Raiding times

We raid on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday. Times are 7:30pm - 11:30pm (SG / Perth Time, GMT +8). Do not waste our time applying if you do not understand these timings. We have had far too many applicants who think we raid at GMT -8 or some other weird timing like that. If you are a US member and you really do wish to raid these times, please state so explicitly in your application

Loot distribution

Elementium is currently using a loot council system as a means to properly distribute item rewards from our raids. Our officers always strive to be fair and practical when it comes to settling loot matters. This looting system may change in the future as the guild continues to grow and progress.

Applying to us

Regardless of whether we are full on a class or not, we welcome exceptional and outstanding applicants to apply anyway. We encourage competition within our raiders, and if you feel that you can give our veterans a run for their money, feel free to apply. We will be glad to welcome you to the Elementium family if you prove that you are capable of beating out our senior raiders.

Also, the UI screenshot is MANDATORY. And when we say in-raid, we mean it. Don't give us a random screenshot of you flying around in Dalaran with no boss mods / raid frames / whatever else shown. This is what we look for in a good UI. Your screenshot should display these.

  • As non-obstructive as possible so you can see what's happening.
  • Provides all information you are going to need and where you can see it easily from.
  • Doesn't provide any useless information that might hinder your gameplay (lose your focus on the important stuff, even if for half a second).
  • As light as possible if you are not running a high end computer. (this can't really be displayed but if you continuously DC in raids and play at 5fps with no raid awareness, expect to fail your trial)
